Donald Gibb cause of death: What we know about 'Revenge of the Nerds' actor
Donald Gibb, star of Revenge of the Nerds and Bloodsport, has died at 71, his family confirmed to Rolling Stone. His son, Travis Gibb, told TMZ it was from "health complications."
A 6-foot-4 physical specimen for much of his decades' long acting career, Gibb had a unique screen presence. His imposing size could make him menacing on screen, yet he could also use it for physical comedy at a moment's notice.
Gibb's first credited screen role came in 1983, and he appeared in a film that released this year, an action-drama called Hands. He made countless film and television appearances in between.
It's certainly been a memorable run.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Gibb — a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and actor. Donald loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his fans with all his heart,” the Gibb family statement read. “Known for his larger-than-life presence on screen and his kindness off screen, he brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to countless people throughout his life and career.”
Gibb's death comes three months after the passing of Robert Carradine, his Revenge of the Nerds co-star. Carradine, who died by suicide, was also 71.
Rest in peace, Donald and Robert.
