Betty Harford has died.
The New York-born actress died "peacefully" on Sunday, Nov. 2, a friend confirmed in a Facebook post. She was 98.
She was surrounded by her family when she died, according to Wendy Wilkins Mitchell, who shared the news the following, and said that Harford's son had told her.
Harford was best known for playing the Carrington family's cook, Hilda Gunnerson, on Dynasty from 1981 to 1987.

She appeared in over 30 episodes of the series during its nine-season run as an employee of Blake Carrington (John Forsythe) and his wife, Krystle (Linda Evans), and even reprised her role for 1991's Dynasty: The Reunion.
Harford was also known for her role on The Paper Chase.
She starred in all four seasons of the series, which first aired on CBS and then ran on Showtime, from 1978 to 1986. She played Mrs. Nottingham, the secretary of John Houseman's character, law school professor Charles W. Kingsfield.

Aside from her major TV roles, Harford also starred in several movies, including 1959's The Wild and the Innocent and 1965's Inside Daisy Clover, which starred Robert Redford and Natalie Wood. She appeared in other series, such as The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Dr. Kildare.
According to her friend, Mitchell, who confirmed her death on Facebook, Harford had been living in Carpinteria, Calif., prior to her death, and had been "recovering from the flu."
She is survived by her son, Chris, and her grandsons.
