For the first time in two decades, ESPN's "College GameDay" is headed to Pittsburgh.
No. 23 Pittsburgh (7-2) will play host to No. 9 Notre Dame (7-2) in a game that could have implications for the College Football Playoff. A win for the Panthers could catapult them into the top 15 and onto the precipice of the 12-team field.
This marks the first time the Panthers will host the three-hour college football pregame show, featuring host Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban and Pat McAfee since 2005, when they also hosted the Fighting Irish.

In that matchup, an unranked Notre Dame team knocked off No. 23 Pitt 42-21 in the season opener for both teams on Sept. 3, 2005.
This meeting between the Panthers and Fighting Irish will be the 10th in the series' history where both squads are ranked and the first such meeting since 1991.
Pittsburgh is coming off a 35-20 win over Stanford last week, marking the fifth consecutive win for the Panthers, moving them to 5-1 in ACC play. They sit in a four-way tie atop the ACC standings entering Week 12.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame is coming off a 49-10 win over Navy. The Fighting Irish have won seven consecutive games following a 0-2 start, which included losses to ranked teams in Miami and Texas A&M.
