According to British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard, the sisters, both now mothers with young families, have felt shaken by the latest release of documents from the U.S. Department of Justice related to Jeffrey Epstein. The DOJ recently made public more than three million records, including personal emails.

Royal experts said the sisters feel “devastated” by the revelations. Chard noted that each sibling is responding to the fallout in a different way. “Eugenie has distanced herself from her parents and has almost severed contact with her father,” Chard told Fox News Digital. “Princess Beatrice, on the other hand, has been spotted a few times with her father,” adding that, “Sources say she is worried about her parents’ well-being and feels a greater responsibility in checking that they’re OK.”

Chard said the siblings continue to receive support from two senior royals. Fordwich said King Charles “admires his nieces and wishes to protect them,” while Prince William is said to care deeply about his cousins and does not want them ostracized. Still, the negativity surrounding their parents continues to weigh heavily. Chard said that now more than ever, the sisters want to “maintain their good work away from family drama.” “They refuse to be embroiled in their parents’ downfall,” Chard said. He continued, “But continuous public scrutiny, along with bombshell revelations, may reshape their loyalty.”

Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019. He formally relinquished his titles in October, after the palace confirmed that King Charles had initiated the process to remove his style, titles, and honors. On Feb. 3, Prince Andrew vacated Royal Lodge, three months after the king ordered him to surrender the lease. Sarah Ferguson has also moved out of the 30-room residence. Although she divorced Andrew in 1996, she continued living with him at the property.
