Sometimes a reality TV career implodes in real time, and Jill Zarin just gave us a masterclass. The Real Housewives of New York City OG has been fired from E!’s upcoming reunion series The Golden Life before production even started, all thanks to a Super Bowl Sunday meltdown that nobody asked for.
The carnage began when Zarin decided to trash Bad Bunny‘s halftime performance in a now-deleted Instagram video. “We all agree — it was the worst halftime show ever,” she declared, apparently speaking for everyone who didn’t agree at all.
But Zarin didn’t stop there. She went full xenophobe, complaining that on America’s 250th birthday, “I just don’t think it was appropriate to have it in Spanish.” She added that the performance “looked like a political statement, because there were literally no white people in the entire thing,” conveniently ignoring Lady Gaga’s appearance.

Blink49 Studios wasted no time showing Zarin the door. “In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” the production company announced Tuesday (February 10, 2026). “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”
The Bravo universe united in condemnation. “I’m horrified, disgusted and disappointed,” Margaret Josephs from The Real Housewives of New Jersey wrote. Tamra Judge asked, “What the actual F*#k,” while Chanel Ayan from Real Housewives of Dubai tweeted she had to unfollow Zarin, calling her comments “disgusting.”

Even Andy Cohen kept his distance. On his SiriusXM show, he referred to Zarin as one of “two people who are not employed by Bravo anymore,” adding, “Call E!”
Perhaps most devastating: Zarin Fabrics, the legendary Lower East Side store once owned by Jill’s late husband Bobby, posted her photo with a giant red X across it. The company clarified that Zarin “has not had ownership of or been associated with Zarin Fabrics for several years,” and condemned her comments entirely.
Her future co-stars weren’t having it either. Sonja Morgan posted about celebrating Bad Bunny’s Grammy win, while Luann de Lesseps shared a photo from the halftime show reading, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” with the caption “Choose Love.”

Dorinda Medley, rumored to appear on “The Golden Life,” called the performance “a moment of incredible hope” and said she was “horrified” by Zarin’s remarks. “I do not agree with absolutely everything that was said,” Medley stated on the Reality Checked podcast.
The Golden Life is still set to air on E! this spring, featuring de Lesseps, Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Morgan living their best lives in Palm Beach. Just without Jill Zarin.
