Kent's Billings anticipating 'feisty' Essex clash

Kent Spitfires' T20 Blast captain Sam Billings says he expects a "feisty" game at Essex on Tuesday, as both teams chase South group leaders Hampshire.

Kent were comfortably beaten by Essex when the two teams met at Canterbury last month, and also lost their last outing against the Sussex Sharks on Sunday.

"We've got to have a reaction against Essex, because finishing this block with four wins and two losses, as opposed to three and three, is a vast difference," he said.

"It's always a great game, always feisty, and it's a game that we relish. We need to get our own back."

Billings' team were underwhelming with the bat at Hove, making just 133-8 and losing by seven wickets, with 16 balls to spare.

They had also been below par against Essex, being restricted to 129-9 before the visitors won by nine wickets, reaching their target with 38 balls remaining.

"When you have an off day, it's about learning about it," Billings told BBC Radio Kent.

"The great thing about this competition is that every ground presents a different opportunity, or different challenges. You have to evolve and change your game."
