A couple dressed as Scooby-Doo characters got engaged at Matthew Lillard's autograph booth during Fan Expo Denver

Lillard, who is known for his iconic role as Shaggy, witnessed and celebrated the surprise proposal

"I am privileged to see the most extraordinary things in my con line! Humans are beautiful," the actor wrote on Instagram

Jinkies! They said yes!

A couple started the next chapter of their love story at a fan convention in Denver with Matthew Lillard by their side in a surprise proposal worth a Scooby Snack.

Fan Expo Denver took place recently from Thursday, May 28, to Sunday, May 31, at the Colorado Convention Center. Among the massive lineup of celebrity guests was Lillard, who appeared Thursday through Saturday. One photo opportunity with the actor, 56, over the weekend was extra special.

"Like, zoinks! We love a surprise proposal 💍," Fan Expo Denver wrote in a joint Instagram post with Lillard on Friday that featured a couple in costume getting engaged with the Scooby-Doo legend witnessing the entire proposal.

The caption continued, "Love was in the air at Matthew Lillard's autograph booth when this Scooby-Doo couple got engaged. Congrats to the happy pair on solving the mystery of forever."

In the photos, a man dressed up as Daphne proposed on bended knee to his partner, who covered their mouth in surprise. The pair then hugged before Lillard walked over and seemingly congratulated them.

"I am privileged to see the most extraordinary things in my con line!" Lillard commented. "Humans are beautiful."

The beloved members of Mystery Inc. are made up of Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. Lillard played Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, who is known for his comic relief and loyalty to Scooby, in the live-action movies Scooby-Doo (2002) and its sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). He later voiced the character in several animated films, series, and video games.
