North Carolina State is interviewing Saint Louis coach Josh Schertz for the Wolfpack's vacant coaching position on Saturday, multiple outlets reported.

Will Wade left the job at NC State on Thursday to return to LSU. He led the Wolfpack to a 20-14 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance in his lone season in Raleigh.

Schertz, 50, agreed to a six-year, $20 million contract extension at Saint Louis on March 13 after reportedly returning down an interview request from Kansas State.

He guided the Billikens to a 29-6 season in 2025-26, losing to top-seeded Michigan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on March 21.

Saint Louis finished 19-15 in Schertz's first season in 2024-25, a turnaround from 13-20 the previous year. The Billikens won this year's Atlantic 10 regular season title, earning the No. 1 tournament seed but falling to Dayton in the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Schertz previously spent three seasons as the head coach at Indiana State, a program he led to the NIT championship game in the 2023-24 season. His overall record is 114-61.

Tennessee associate coach Justin Gainey, who played guard at NC State from 1996-2000, also has been linked to the Wolfpack's vacancy.
