Sally Kirkland has reportedly entered hospice in Palm Springs.

Kirkland’s rep, Michael Greene, confirmed the news on Sunday, November 9, according to TMZ. It was also echoed in a new update on her GoFundMe page.

“Thank you for all your love and support,” read the November 7 post from the account’s manager, listed only as Friends of Sally. “Sally is grateful for your kindness and love. Sally is on hospice now and is resting comfortably. Please hold and send the light for Sally.”

The update comes just over a month after organizers shared that the 84-year-old actress had endured “a challenging few months.”

“Hi: Sally sends her love to everyone. It has been a challenging few months for Sally as her health continues to struggle,” the October 2 update read. “She had a fall in the shower, when she was left unattended, injuring her ribs and foot, along with cuts and bruises. Sally is now receiving 24/7 care in a specialized facility that is providing wonderful safety and care. We are continuing to raise money to cover the gaps between income and care costs. Thank you for all the love, support, and care for Sally.”

The fundraiser was initially created in November 2024, and it was started after Kirkland “fractured her four bones in her neck, right wrist, and her left hip” and while she was recovering “developed two separate life-threatening infections.” The medical bills began to mount and it was more than her insurance would cover.

Shortly after the GoFundMe was started, Kirkland shared a video message to those who donated.

“Everyone, I just wanted to thank you for sending me your love and your light and helping me get through this, day by day, helping me with my GoFundMe page,” the Golden Globe winner said at the time. “It really touches my heart. [I] really feel your love.”

Kirkland was born in New York City in 1941, and she got her start off-Broadway before taking on film and TV. In 1987, Kirkland landed her breakthrough role with Anna, and it earned her an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe win and a permanent place in indie film history. Over the years, she’s popped up in everything from The Sting and Private Benjamin to The Player and JFK, along with dozens of TV appearances on Roseanne, Murder, She Wrote and Days of Our Lives.
