If you’re still on the fence about trying a Bixie (a bob-pixie hybrid), Zendaya’s recent press tour looks prove that the trending haircut is endlessly versatile and as sophisticated as ever.
At the New York City premiere of her and actor Robert Pattinson’s new film The Drama, Zendaya showcased a strapless blue Schiaparelli gown and a wet-look hairstyle, crafted by celebrity stylist Ursula Stephen using Moroccanoil.
“Her dress was so elegant and reminiscent of a beautiful bird, so we came up with the idea to lean in the opposite direction for her hair, bringing a slight edginess to the look,” Stephen tells Bazaar exclusively. “A little glossy, a little undone. Edgy in a quiet way, like feathers dampened after a sudden rain to bring the look altogether.”
Stephen prepped the star’s hair with Moroccanoil Treatment Mist, then applied Moroccanoil Molding Cream from the nape up. She used a paddle brush to distribute it evenly through the hair.

The stylist then shaped Zendaya’s bixie cut using a wide-tooth comb, which also helped add some texture. With the shape set, Stephen used Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong to lock it in. The final step? Another generous layer of the Moroccanoil Treatment Mist “for that super shiny wet look,” she says, adding: “That’s the trick!”

Zendaya’s makeup played up the blue tones in her dress. Her makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas, used the (sold-out!) Lightwork Palette 7 from Danessa Myricks Beauty to create her sultry, cool-toned metallic eye. On her skin, he applied a layer of Body Gloss from Dezi Skin to achieve a red-carpet glow.
The star’s recent hair looks for The Drama’s press tour have featured plenty of variety, from bouncy blowouts and spiral barrel curls to elegant, Old Hollywood-inspired waves. But one throughline for each? The humble side part. If you were on the fence about whether the style is outdated, Stephen and Zendaya prove it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, with the 2026 version extending to mid-scalp placement.
