The documents included flirty emails between the talent agency CEO and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell

Though Wasserman denied having a relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the news prompted multiple of his clients to leave his agency

One of the 3 million Epstein files that the Department of Justice released in January 2026 included email exchanges between convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and longtime Hollywood talent agent Casey Wasserman.

Following the news, multiple of his high-profile clients — including Chappell Roan and Beach Bunny — announced that they were leaving his agency.

"I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well," the "Pink Pony Club" singer wrote on her Instagram Stories on Feb. 9. "No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values."

Though the DOJ hasn't accused Wasserman of any wrongdoing, one of the emails in question included an offer for a massage from Maxwell. She was arrested in 2020 for her connection to the late sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019. Maxwell was later sentenced to 20 years in prison for felony sex trafficking charges.

The emails between Maxwell and Wasserman had a flirtatious tone, with the agent writing in one, "So, what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?”

He told The New York Times in a statement on Feb. 5 that he "deeply" regretted the correspondence and noted that it happened over 20 years ago, "long before her horrific crimes came to light." Wasserman also claimed to have no relationship with Epstein.

So who is Casey Wasserman? Here's everything to know about the Hollywood talent agency CEO and his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

Wasserman is the grandson of Lew Wasserman, the former CEO of the Music Corporation of America (MCA). Remembered as one of the most important behind-the-scenes names in Hollywood for decades, Lew and his wife, Edie, were responsible for helping stars like Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin skyrocket to fame, per Variety.

Wasserman has run his late grandparents' charity, the Wasserman Foundation, since Lew's death in 2002 and Edie's in 2011.

Wasserman founded the Wasserman Media Group in 2002, per The New York Times. Though it began as a sports agency representing athletes like Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and brands like Nike, he later expanded his client roster to include musicians, entertainers and content creators.

"The lines between all what used to be pretty distinct businesses were getting blurred very quickly," he told the Los Angeles Times in September 2023, after announcing that Wasserman Media Group had acquired Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

The esteemed management company represented big names in the entertainment industry, including Adam Sandler, Florence Pugh, Seth Meyers, Brad Pitt and Brittany Broski.

In addition to Roan, Wasserman Media Group has also represented musicians like Kendrick Lamar, Coldplay, Brandi Carlile, Drake, Kenny Chesney, Billie Eilish, SZA, Noah Kahan and Ed Sheeran, among others.

The organization was named Booking Agency of the Year at the 2024 Pollster Awards, per a press release.

He has two children and a girlfriend

Wasserman shares two children, Emmet and Stella, with his former wife, Laura Ziffren, per Sidelines. Their marriage allegedly ended after he started seeing flight attendant Jenny Chandler, who worked on his private jet, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Chandler and Wasserman have been photographed together at multiple events since December 2021. In 2025, they attended the Met Gala together.

In addition to his work representing talent, Wasserman has also led efforts for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

According to Sportico, he served as the chairman of the local organizing committee and unsuccessfully attempted to repeal the Olympic Charter rule that prohibits "demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda" at the Games.

"Racism against the Black community has gone on far too long without systemic support and tangible actions from the global sport community," he reportedly wrote in a 2020 letter to International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. “We can start now by having the IOC amend the guidelines that support Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter to allow anti-racist advocacy on the Olympic stage."

In January 2026, the DOJ released more documents in the Epstein files, including an email in which Maxwell offered Wasserman a massage. After the documents were made public, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn called for his resignation as chairman and president of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

“LA28 has lauded the likelihood of having more women participate in the Olympic and Paralympic Games than ever before in history,” County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath told the Los Angeles Times. “What does that mean when the organization is led by an intimate friend of a convicted human trafficker? Now is the time for LA28 to demonstrate how much they truly value women.”

Several of Wasserman's clients, including indie rock groups Wednesday, Beach Bunny and Water From Your Eyes, left his agency following the news.

"Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity," Roan, who had also been represented by Wasserman Media Group, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Feb. 9. "This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust."

The talent agency CEO hasn't been charged with any wrongdoing and said in a statement to The New York Times that he "never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein."

He admitted to flying on board the Epstein plane during a humanitarian trip with the Clinton Foundation in 2002, saying he was "terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”
