*The View *isn't new today — and won't be for over a week, as the cohosts prepare to take a lengthy hiatus from broadcasting live episodes ahead of a planned return later in April.
As it does every year, the long-running talk show will pause for an Easter break, beginning with the Friday, April 3 episode being a repeat broadcast featuring guest cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck at the Hot Topics table.
After that, *The Weekend View* will air pre-taped installments on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a week of encore telecasts featuring cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and a revolving door of panelists who filled in for Alyssa Farah Griffin during her maternity leave.

Goldberg announced on Thursday's show that Griffin would finally return to the Hot Topics table on Monday, April 13, following a multi-month absence amid the birth of her first child, baby Justin, with husband Justin Griffin.
"We are thrilled to let you know that Alyssa will be returning to the table when we come back live after the holidays," Goldberg told the audience in the closing moments of the show.
"I'm so overjoyed," Griffin said on the air in October, which marked the first time she publicly revealed that she was pregnant. "I went through IVF, it was hard, it took us about a year, it took us five rounds, but he's here, he's coming!"

Guest cohosts who've filled in for Griffin in recent weeks include former permanent cohost Abby Huntsman, comedian Whitney Cummings, ex-*The Talk* panelist Sheryl Underwood, reality star and MAGA supporter Savannah Chrisley, former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, and the aforementioned Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck's recent return to the show came over a year after she publicly bashed Behar, with whom she sat on the panel as a permanent cohost from 2003-2013, after the comedian criticized *American Idol* winner Carrie Underwood's decision to perform at Donald Trump's second inauguration in January 2025.**
The ex-colleagues did not address their past drama upon Hasselbeck's first episode back at the table in years, with the *Survivor* alum instead calling for civility as they discussed topics in the episodes ahead.

Hasselbeck previously criticized the comedian and the "sinking" talk show by name, in a series of social media posts and an appearance on Sean Hannity's show in early 2025.
*The View *has also come under fire from political figures in recent months, with FCC head Brendan Carr warning that there could be "consequences" for the show over what he felt was a liberal bias, while the White House has released several statements to ** condemning the cohosts over statements they've made about the Trump administration.
New episodes of *The View* return Monday, April 13 on ABC.
